Love, family, the joy of giving ... these are all great gifts from God for us to enjoy. But they are only offshoots from the true true meaning of Christmas, our Saviour Jesus Christ
Just for a moment we can again imagine the vault of the heaven ringing with joyful song—even though there is really no song and no story. But the ancients had a view that actually justified that imagination—no matter what their scientific errors. They knew what [we] want to be true. Though knowing less, they knew much more.
Christianity does bring many good things to a human life—experiential, existential and eternal. And these come as a by-product. Side benefits, on the way to something bigger, namely: a relationship with God. But it’s important to say, these good things come in a very unexpected, and paradoxical way.
