Meet Our New National Director, My Conversation With Dave McDonald

The Gospel Coalition Australia exists to encourage and equip Australian disciples to commend and contend for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Part of how we aim to do that is bringing on a National Director, the recently appointed Dave McDonald.

In our conversation we chat about how Dave heard about this role and what he hopes to do, as he serves in it.

Dave McDonald lives in Bonny Hills on the Mid North Coast of NSW. He and his wife Fiona have four children and a growing number of grandchildren.

Dave previously lived in Canberra and worked in university ministry, church planting and pastoring, and sports chaplaincy. He then served as the inaugural National Director for the FIEC, pastored Salt Community Church in Bonny Hills, and served as an interim pastor in Taree. Dave is currently serving as the inaugural National Director for The Gospel Coalition Australia. He is also an experienced ministry coach, mentor and pastoral supervisor.

Dave and Fiona have had an extensive ministry to many with cancer and serious illness, and they have authored Hope Beyond Cure, showing how Jesus offers the only true hope for eternity.

Jonathan Holt is the Senior Minister at Lanyon Valley Anglican Church, which Jonathan and his wife Ruth helped plant in 2006. Jonathan also serves on the TGCA Council and Board of Directors.
