Paul Harrington: Staying at the Same Church Long-Term

Council member, Paul Harrington, joins us to talk about his long association with Holy Trinity Church in Adelaide. Paul first arrived as a new believer, and has stayed. It’s been decades of seeing God at work and being shaped by the faithful, gospel-hearted people around him.

What’s it like to stay put, and be in the same church over many years? What might God teach us through having such long discipling relationships?

Jonathan Holt is the Senior Minister at Lanyon Valley Anglican Church, which Jonathan and his wife Ruth helped plant in 2006. Jonathan also serves on the TGCA Council.

Paul Harrington was raised in Adelaide and became a Christian in 1978 while studying at Adelaide Uni. After working for several years as a lawyer, Paul went on to complete a theological degree and in 1988 he joined the Trinity Church Adelaide staff team. Since then, the Trinity Network has grown and now meets across 14 sites across Adelaide and regional South Australia. These days Paul’s main role is to encourage and coach senior staff and help lead the Trinity Network in reaching more people across South Australia with the gospel. Paul is married to Sue and they have three adult children and a growing number of grandchildren!
