Acts describes the inclusion of the Gentiles in God’s ultimate people, the church. That church starts with—and is initially made up almost exclusively of—Jews. Acts is at pains to show that the means by which God will reach the Gentiles is by first restoring a remnant of his covenant people.
With each card I received I began to experience a taste of the joy Paul expresses to the Philippians at their partnership in their gospel. There were people across Victoria who were thinking of me and praying for me.
If we could regain alignment around one great gospel priority—say, doubling Reformed evangelicalism in Australia over the next twenty years—and renew our focus on developing godly, urgent, clear-minded leaders, then under God, we might see remarkable change. If we did this together, we might truly see a difference in outcomes.
If God walked with Abraham, wrestled with Jacob, and spoke face-to-face with Moses, why stop there? Maybe he decided to visit for a bit longer, and worked a greater salvation in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
