The Gospel and Retirement: how one TGCA Council member is using his retirement to serve

Jonathan Holt is the Senior Minister at Lanyon Valley Anglican Church, which Jonathan and his wife Ruth helped plant in 2006. Jonathan also serves on the TGCA Council.

Murray Lean started working life as a country doctor, but in the unexpected and sovereign ways of God, was led into pastoral ministry. He retired after many years at City North Baptist Church (Brisbane) at the end of 2020, however continues to serve in active ministry roles as the Lord gives him opportunity. Murray has six adult children and a growing number of grandchildren. Sadly, he lost his wife and faithful ministry partner, Debbie, to cancer in 2010. He has a deep love for the local church, with a passion to see it built up through consistent Bible teaching and mobilised effectively for gospel ministry.
